Cafe Lou Lou in Louisville

A gem of Louisville and St. Matthews!! The food here is amazing! Never disappoints and it's obvious they take great care in the quality of the dishes they serve and care and thought into what dishes are served. The service is hit or miss, not rude or bad just either friendly or very vanilla. It's a unique fun atmosphere as well. The chicken roll up and pasta carbonara are both to die for as are the hummus trio and the bread pudding.

Food and service was awesome. Definitely will visit again. Wife and I both did the Cajun sampler. The Creme Brulee was excellent.

Very creative menu with a variety of options that you can't find anywhere else. Salads, soups, sandwiches and entrées all offer a unique flavor. This was our first time at Lou Lou's. We will definitely be back to try other menu items.

The food was good. Service was friendly. No lunch menu, however. It was good but I probably won't go often (except perhaps for dinner where the cost is more in line with my expectations).

We had a wonderful experience and enjoyed delicious foods. The atmosphere was casual and prices were reasonable.

The food is always delicious, but today I was so happy with the service. I brought my two young kids and the male server was so accommodating and anticipated our needs. It's that type of service that makes taking kids out for dinner better and more enjoyable. I will definitely return

By word of mouth, I heard this was a place I needed to check out. I finally did and I wish I hadn't taken me so long! Great range of menu selections from calzones/pizza to shrimp and grits to crawfish etoufee. Plenty of options to drive too. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

I haven't been back here in awhile; not sure why. The food is great and there are many interesting new items on the menu that I want to return and try. I had linguini and meatballs (my previous favorite) and I tried my wife's Jumbalia Burrito which was the daily special, and very tasty.

Pasta carbonara was delicious! Bayou trio was good -had crawfish etouffee/gumbo/jambalaya with dirty rice. Don’t usually like dirty rice, but this had good flavor! The gumbo was good but not great-the hot sauce we added helped but it is hard to get good gumbo in this area. Etouffee was good but the jambalaya was the best! Very good. We had the bread pudding for dessert-very good!! Will go back again

Was here for the cajun Christmas... excellent atmosphere and staff.. there was a gentleman that paid for my daughters and I meal.... As a combat veteran i cant think you enough for your selfless act of kindness and hope your surgery goes well... 💯🇺🇸🎄...this is an amazing place...

Lou Lou Food & Drink looks like a cute little restaurant on the outside but don't let it's unpretentious exterior fool you. This restaurant means business and serves up big flavor and dishes reflecting New Orleans influence and Italian flair. One sandwich I recently tried and strongly recommend is the Chicken Portabella Roll that contains spinach, feta cheese, tomatoes, and all of this flavorful goodness drenched in a roasted red pepper sauce and stuffed inside a flatbread exterior cooked to crispy perfection! It came with a choice of sides, and I tried the Cajun waffle crisps... just divine... and with the right amount of seasoning to turn the heat up a notch on a regularly enjoyed classic. Give this place a try if you haven't already. I just love it!

The best shrimp and grits I have had anywhere. The staff was pleasant and friendly. I will be back.

Great place! This is one of those places you would see featured on TV and say, "Hey, I need to check that place out." Have only been there once and had the Gumbo, which was awesome, and I plan to go back and try rest of the menu. The bar area looked like they had a very good section but I was on a work trip, so had to pass this time....ha

Just picked up the Chicago Style pizza from Lou Lou. Was amazing. Hoping to take the family to eat in and try something else as soon as this virus ordeal settles down.

Enjoyed a wonderful dine in experience with my wife in a refreshingly cozy environment with a full bar. I had a chicken pasta that kept tasting BETTER THE MORE I EAT! We also shared a meat filled pizza that we had to take home because we were full and Happy and couldn't eat another bite. The sweet tea was perfect. It was worth the price. We will go back to this spot

True to creole and Italian dishes. Portions were quite large. The spinach and artichoke wrapped in lavish was unusually good! I’m really into textures and the chef knows what he/she is doing. I really appreciate the presentation and friendly service as well.

Incredible. I had the Italian sausage calzone and my wife had the hot brown. Both meals were HUGE and absolutely incredible.Service was knowledge and very polite. We'll be back soon.

Met a friend for drinks and a quick bite last week and had a great experience! The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, the food was wonderful and the drinks were great. We split the tuna and wasabi mash potatoes special for the evening and it was DELICIOUS!

Frustratingly inattentive service when one considers the number of staff and limited number of patrons on a pandemic afternoon. Fortunately, the food held up well.

Went to lunch for the 1st time with a new friend. She had never been before. (Have been on my favorite list since Frankfort Ave days). They now have a new customer. She was delighted. Just the right blend of ehnic and familiar foods.

Great pizza, try the Chongs Pizza for a real treat. It can get noisy but the food is worth it. Nice bourbon selection.

This was my first time trying lou lou's and let me say they did not disappoint. When i say the bread pudding is the best around town take my word for it cause we got 2 orders of it and still had to go back for seconds.

We had a group of 10 on a really busy night. Service was top notch! Food was very tasty and came out quickly. Very impressed.

Went for lunch. My food was very good. The main reason for my review is there was not a lunch menu. They have the same menu all day so the cost was a bit high for lunch and the amount of food was more than what I want for lunch. I did eat the appetizer Blue Cheese Polenta and it was great.

OMG one of the best places I've eaten since I've moved to Louisville. The hot brown pizza was great. The short rib sandwich was out of this world. And they pretzel brownie words just couldn't do it justice!
